Jon Caffrey, Principal

Mr. Caffrey is entering his third year as Principal of Fullerton Union High School and is honored to serve as the 21st Principal of the district’s flagship school. With 32 years in education, including the last seven years in administrative leadership at FUHS, he has found his professional home at Fullerton Union and is proud to lead a school with a rich tradition of excellence, opportunity, and community.

Prior to his appointment as Principal, Mr. Caffrey served as Assistant Principal of Student Activities (2020–2023) and Assistant Principal of Instruction & Operations (2023–2024) at Fullerton Union High School. He joined the Fullerton Joint Union High School District in 2009 as a Special Education teacher and Head Football Coach at Sunny Hills High School. In 2013, he was named Athletic Director at Sunny Hills, serving in that role until 2020. Throughout his career, he has held a variety of leadership, coaching, and athletic administration positions, experiences that have strengthened his commitment to student success and servant leadership.

Mr. Caffrey is passionate about building meaningful relationships with students, staff, families, and community partners. He believes that a positive school culture, strong collaboration, and high expectations create the foundation for student achievement. His leadership is guided by Fullerton Union’s core belief and unwavering commitment to its site goal: Every Student Graduates. He is dedicated to ensuring that every student feels connected, supported, challenged, and prepared for success beyond high school.

Mr. Caffrey and his wife, Deanna, are proud parents of four children and grandparents to Charlotte (2), Magnolia (1½), and Nora (1 month). Outside of school, he enjoys spending time with family, supporting local athletics, and celebrating the accomplishments of Fullerton Union students and staff.

At the heart of Mr. Caffrey’s leadership is a deep appreciation for the traditions of Fullerton Union High School and a commitment to its future. Guided by the belief that we are Stronger Together, he is honored to serve the FUHS community and work alongside students, staff, families, and alumni.
