Beating the Odds: A Young Fullerton Drumline Brings Home First-Ever WGASC Gold

For the first time in our school's history, our Indoor Drumline earned the gold medal at WGASC Championships, placing 1st in their division. We started a competitive drumline during my second year at FUHS for the spring 2015 season and have achieved decent scores each year, but oftentimes placing in the middle of our divisions. This year with our group of 14 members, we only have 4 upperclassmen and 6 new members. We thoughtfully and purposefully worked hard to change the culture, expectations, and structure of our Drumline program this season and it has really paid off. We are of course incredibly happy for our students, they deserve this and have worked so hard to make it happen. Our parents are very proud and I am too. A big shout out to our staff Tony T. Nguyen, Ryan Choe, and Abby Griffin for all their work and dedication this year.
